wonderful peeler feels like a quality peeler should not too heavy not too lite or flimsey incredably sharp
But I can easily see the value in a kitchen tool like the Oxo Good Grip I- Series Y Peeler. It was common for these peelers to slip and, sometimes, a cut finger would result. It is an excellent kitchen gadget with great cutting ability, safety, and durability. But there is no need to worry with the Oxo Good Grip I- Series Y Peeler.
What initially attracted me to this peeler and convinced me to select it over others is the large black handle. This peeler is much better and safer than using a knife and it takes most of the work out of the task. This Oxo peeler has an oversized handle that fits any size hands and you can grip it up close or hold it further back. The blade seems to conform to the shape of your favorite fruit or vegetable and efficiently removes the peeling quickly.
This extra feature makes it easy to achieve the perfect peeling job with minimal effort. But there is no such problem with this peeler. Either way, your skin is well protected. It even has a non- slip surface that is designed to keep your hand and fingers away from the blade, minimizing the chance for being cut. Oxo Good Grips I- Series Peeler is an excellent kitchen aid that helps make peeling common fruits and vegetables easier and more efficient.
It also minimizes the amount of food that is lost because you don't have to go back over the food item and slice again, which inevitably removes more of the food you want to keep. Besides the peeling ability, the built in blemish remover is also very handy. All you do is scoop out the blemish which, again, minimizes the loss of actual food. If you use a knife to remove blemishes, you have to cut away a large amount of the food to remove the blemish completely. I have found that this Oxo peeler is very effective at slicing its way through foods and what I like best is that you don't have to go over the same part of the fruit or vegetable. In the past, many peelers had small handles and were difficult to grip. The blemish remover scoops these problems away in seconds.
Now, let's talk about the cutting ability. All it takes is one swipe to remove the peeling. I'm not a chef by any means and I limit my time spent in the kitchen. The price might be a little higher than others, but the excellent quality is worth the money.
It seemed like it took forever for the Oxo Good Grips I-series peeler to come in - over a week past the expected delivery date. I love this peeler. The peeler came in such a large box, too. But, that's not what this review is about. It's really comfortable to use, it's sharp, and it does a remarkable job. I highly recommend it.
I love this peeler. Its easy to use and cuts through a potato peel with ease. The blade is very sharp (be careful). This is the best peeler I've ever used.
I bought this peeler for my wife to be. It's almost kind of fun to peel vegetables now, believe it or not. It's a little pricey, until you use it, and realize why you spent the money. The blades are sharp, and the peeling is smooth and precise. The handle is comfortable, and if this thing gives out, I would buy another. Great peeler.
